The internet's most obsessive detectives have been at it again — and this time they might actually be onto something.
A viral thread on Reddit's celebrity gossip forum laid out what it called "17 pieces of irrefutable evidence" that a major pop star's engagement announcement last week was staged for publicity purposes ahead of a new album drop.
Among the evidence cited: the ring appeared in promotional photos before the announcement, the couple's publicists share the same parent agency, and the proposed wedding date falls exactly two weeks before the album's release.
The star's team has not commented. Pre-saves on the album are up 340% since the announcement.
